Well, I finally gave in and signed up on Friendster. Still not sure why, but I too am a sheep. I'm thinking I should change my profile to "just here to help."

And, overnight, my "personal network" - and presumably those of everyone I know - exploded from what I seem to remember from yesterday as around 500, to 11,600. So, if anyone is actually using it to meet people, you're welcome. Or I'm sorry, depending on how it goes.

Incidentally, for anyone who's curious, that mystery contact is my boss's older son. I spent a while yesterday searching names of pretty much everyone I know or have ever known, especially the ones who aren't Drew-types. More interesting that way. I didn't know if he would acknowledge the connection or not, but I figured it couldn't hurt to try.

It's interesting.. someone "suggested" someone to me the other day on Friendster. I had no idea who either of them were, but I still thought it was interesting. Of course, as jaded as I am, the first thought that crossed my mind was "Porn hook."
