Well, despite the predicted voting woes, I found it to be a remarkably painless process.

Since it's only been a couple of days since the time change, it was no problem at all to wake up an hour early. I drove around the corner to the Madison Housing Authority, and parked on the street behind the previous person. I did note as I walked up that there were spaces available in the lot, however.

I was listed in the book, so I didn't even need to produce my identification. There was only one person ahead of me, so by 7:45, an hour that usually sees me hitting the snooze button for the second or third time, I had said hello to my co-worker's mother (who was a volunteer), cast my votes, collected my sticker and gone on my way.

So, I'm back home, brewing a cup of tea, and relaxing for another half hour before I have to go work.

I wish all of you, and all of the U.S., an equally straightforward experience.

I didn't get a sticker... waited in line for a half hour... why is something a voting station if it only has two voting machines?

*puzzled* How many did you expect? 2 per precinct/district is pretty standard in small towns, I thought...

Really? In the small town whose name I shall not mention (you know where I'm from) the entire town population was 7,000. There were quite a few polling places (lots of 'em. I mean TONS of 'em. Seems like there was one in every firehouse, church, and school!) And each polling place had at least 3 voting stations - some of them had even more.

Are you going to call everywhere I live throughout my entire life a small town? I mean what if I move to Mexico City or something will that all of a sudden morph into a small town?

Yes I am north of Allentown... I'm just curious how big the place I live has to be to no longer be a small town?

What are you looking for, a number? Can't give you one. If you don't live in a small town, then just say so. I've not been there (or, at least, not knowingly), so I couldn't say.

In general, however, something that's described as "outside of City X" isn't likely to be something I'd call a major population center in its own right.

We waited about an hour or slightly more, and the lines were consistently that long (or longer) the whole time we were there. Co-workers have either had short experiences or hour and half or more waits. I'll take all this as generally a good sign.

We only had 4 machines, but everyone moved through at a reasonable fast pace given the volume.

Just happy we had old lever machines without the potential complexities or annoyance of those new-fangled, non-secure pieces of...

I got there at 6:45 (as opposed to my planned 6am). There were two people in front of me, but by the time I'd dropped my mail-in ballot in the box, the two people were voting. I could have been in and out in less than 15 minutes if I'd been voting the "normal" way. I'm surprised you had to wait in line so long!

I didn't get a sticker either, but I was in and out in under ten minutes and some of that time was me making sure I was using the new kind of machines correctly.

I've got two stickers. I got a mail-in ballot because I was promised that it came with an "I Voted" sticker. It did not. It came with an, "I Voted Early in Pima County" sticker which is sooo not the same. So I dropped my ballot off and got a REAL sticker on my way out the door!
