Let's make this truly random and call it the first six people (if any) to comment to this post. That way I don't have to do the choosing. If not that many people comment, then just assume you're on my list.

French onion soup? Huh.

CSI is kinda addictive. I find myself always flipping it on when I see it on the listing!

[identity profile] collacentaur.livejournal.com 2004-11-19 08:09 pm (UTC)(link)
No particular order or priority. *grin*

[identity profile] ourika.livejournal.com 2004-11-19 09:05 pm (UTC)(link)
If priority was part of the list's organization, you'd have included breath mints after the onion soup...

[identity profile] collacentaur.livejournal.com 2004-11-19 09:06 pm (UTC)(link)
*laugh*

Or make sure everyone else also eats the soup.

[identity profile] ourika.livejournal.com 2004-11-19 09:14 pm (UTC)(link)
True, but not everyone can (it's got cheese in it, after all, ohhh, the lactose intolerant people crying out, bending over, grabbing their middle - all that pain just so that you don't have to eat a breath mint? How selfish! ;-)

[identity profile] collacentaur.livejournal.com 2004-11-19 09:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Apparently, most places are willing to make it without cheese - which makes it just onion soup, but still pretty yummy. It's one of the few things one of my friends with severe food problems can eat in restaurants.

Alternatively, of course, I could not breathe on people who don't like onions. That works pretty well for me also.

[identity profile] ourika.livejournal.com 2004-11-19 09:27 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm weird then. I can't eat it. Onion soup in restaurants is often made with beef broth. French onion soup has cheese and bread in it as well. It's a triple wammy *laughs*

However, I think the more intersting thing to note is that you like it. What about it do you like? The broth itself, the soaked bread, the cheese, what? (I used to eat it just for the soaked cheesie bread).

[identity profile] collacentaur.livejournal.com 2004-11-19 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)
I like all of it. Soup, bread, cheese, the whole things.

You're not weird, you just have a different set of dietary restrictions. K was actually really surprised to find out she could eat the onion soup (as long as it didn't have cheese) - she loves it because it's got more flavor than most of what she can have these days. She thinks the soaked bread/crouton is the best part.

[identity profile] ourika.livejournal.com 2004-11-19 09:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Crouton? Are they making french onion soup with croutons these days instead of a nice, big hunk of bread the wya they used to make it back when I was a young'un? Dang, them was the days, back before you youngsters messed everything up and started using croutons.

Sheesh. Croutons.

[identity profile] collacentaur.livejournal.com 2004-11-19 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Not like out of a box - these are mostly the places that do homemade croutons. Which starts with bread. So basically it just means breaking up the bread instead of leaving it all one piece... I've also heard the whole big piece referred to as a crouton, now that I think of it.

It totally depends on the place though. Speaking of which, I need to start keeping notes on which places do it well, and which not. There's one restaurant I go to regularly that doesn't do it very well, but I keep ordering it because I keep forgetting which one it is that I don't like.

[identity profile] amy-pearlman.livejournal.com 2004-11-20 08:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I think the soup badness is Applebees. Although it might be one of the others...

[identity profile] amy-pearlman.livejournal.com 2004-11-19 07:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I would ask why you like my cooking (Lord knows I don't understand it) but I somehow feel that you would not be able to explain it to me.

[identity profile] collacentaur.livejournal.com 2004-11-19 08:10 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't like fancy cooking. I like basic, simple, home cooking, made with decent ingredients, that tastes good. And I like it done by someone other than me.

You're the only person who cooks for me regularly.

[identity profile] soupkills.livejournal.com 2004-11-19 07:35 pm (UTC)(link)
How else are you going to remove warped staples?

[identity profile] ourika.livejournal.com 2004-11-19 09:27 pm (UTC)(link)
As long as she keeps the stapler away from you, the staples won't become warped.

[identity profile] collacentaur.livejournal.com 2004-11-19 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
*evil laugh* clearly you have not met my co-workers. Everything here is a little bit warped.

[identity profile] ourika.livejournal.com 2004-11-19 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I have never met your co-workers.

I don't think I want to, either. Someone who's consumption of candy can cause abnormally high levels of emotion is not someone that I want to me.

[identity profile] collacentaur.livejournal.com 2004-11-19 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)
*grin* ah, I'm just both hot-tempered and really sensitive to incidental noises. Ginny's a great person, and a lot of fun, it's just that she's always making noise. I still haven't done anything about the candy, because I know I'm being ridiculous.

I do confiscate all the clicky pens in the office, though.

[identity profile] daernhelm.livejournal.com 2004-11-19 07:54 pm (UTC)(link)
but what if the sun is shining in on your face or something do you still like it?

[identity profile] collacentaur.livejournal.com 2004-11-19 08:12 pm (UTC)(link)
If it shines on my face I wake up earlier.

[identity profile] leftsphenoid.livejournal.com 2004-11-19 07:58 pm (UTC)(link)
ooh! i'm one of the first six comments, i get to be steffie's friend!

[identity profile] collacentaur.livejournal.com 2004-11-19 08:13 pm (UTC)(link)
*grin* Yep, it's easy!

[identity profile] oidhche.livejournal.com 2004-11-19 08:15 pm (UTC)(link)
6!! I'm number six!

For physical appearance I'd like to add in breasts and hands.

[identity profile] soupkills.livejournal.com 2004-11-19 09:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Given your userpic, I feel perfectly justified in posting the following:

Blue Boobies! *grin*

[identity profile] ourika.livejournal.com 2004-11-19 09:55 pm (UTC)(link)
That's the first photo of blue boobies I've ever seen that has two blue boobies! So much better than the ones I usually see that are just one poor boobie alone. Well, the boobie can't be completely alone, they're always lifting a foot in a seductive manner.

[identity profile] collacentaur.livejournal.com 2004-11-19 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
*laugh*

I should go play with colors a little and see if I can shift it a little closer to the true colors; the shirt is actually purple. Bluish-purple, but still more purple than blue.
